Goodbye February

My least favorite month of the year is officially over in 4 hours!  I know I shouldn't wish away time... but I am so over it!

I went through my summer clothes last week to see what still fits and guess what?  I can still fit into everything!  Usually I gain a few pounds during the winter and it is at least May before I can wear all my shorts.  I guess all that Zumba is paying off!

February did have a few good moments...
  • Jason and I celebrated our 8 year dating anniversary on February 18th. I know you aren't supposed to celebrate it after you get married, but that day does still have a special place in my heart.
  • I found out that I am in the running for the President's List... a way Insight Media Advertising recognizes their top-producing employees.  The awards ceremony is sometime in March.  Keep your fingers crossed!
  • The Steelers didn't win the Superbowl!
Yup... that's about it.

Ready For Summer

The weather in Kentucky has been so nice this past week!  It makes me anxious for summer to be here already!  My nephew, Peyton, is ready too!
I already have my spring Keeneland dress picked out!  It has an exposed zipper in the back that I love.  Now I need to find some cute shoes and jewelry to go with it!

I dream in chocolate...

Last night before bed I watched an episode of 'Unwrapped' on Food Network, featuring Valentine's Day candy.  All night I dreamt about being in a candy store and searching for the perfect box of chocolate.  How I didn't wake up in a pile of drool, I'm not sure.

So... of course today, while I was out and about, I had to stop by Ruth Hunt Candy and get an assortment of chocolates.
The Raspberry Meltaways on the right are my absolute favorite!  I HAD 4 of them, but Jason and I each already ate one!  The only one I am not a fan of is the Champagne Truffle.  It tastes like straight alcohol, not champagne.  Ick!

Looks like I am going to need to Zumba 3 nights this week instead of just 2!  Totally worth it!

Date night with the hubby

After receiving my 2011 budget for work, I felt a little hopeless.  Not a good feeling on a Friday afternoon.  For those of you who don't know me, I am an advertising account executive for a local cable company.  Essentially, I sell commercials.  I had a heck of a year last year, ending up at over 120% of my goal!  Topping that this year is not going to be easy, if not impossible!

My darling husband, who always knows how to make my world perfect again, bought me flowers and had them in a vase on the table when I got home.  He's definitely a keeper! : )

I also decided to do a little bit of shopping at Target... picking up a new purse (see below), chunky fashion necklace, a new flat iron, and some random beauty items.  Total damage was a little over $100, but totally worth it!

Last night, after a wonderful dinner of Pad Thai at Mai Thai, we went to see "No Stings Attached" with Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman.
Most. Awkward. Movie. Ever!

Not good at all.  Natalie Portman tried to pull off the 'girl next door' role and it just didn't work for her.  She does better in dark, serious roles.  Oh well... it did take my mind off work for a while.

Now trying to decide what to bring to the Super Bowl party tomorrow.  I think I will make these...
Thanks to Sarah for sharing!

Heard It Through The Grapevine...

Last Friday was a fantastic day, ending out a not-so-great week.

I got to see a good friend of mine that is recovering from a major surgery to heal a brain aneurysm, had lunch with co-workers (which one of the managers paid for), got a big unexpected schedule from one of my clients - putting me at my February goal and then was given tickets to WUKY's "Heard It Through The Grapevine" benefit.  Each ticket was $85!!!  Of course the tickets were given as a gift from a very lovely lady I work with.

The event was held at Keeneland and had 3 bands, vendors from just about every winery/distillery, restaurant and catering company you could think of and lots of good company!  Good times!
