Happy Halloween Weekend!

Check out my pumpkin(s)!
Happy Halloween!  Hope everyone has a great and safe weekend celebrating!

Teen Witch!

This morning I am laying in bed flipping through the channels and find Teen Witch on ABC Family!

The girl in this movie is so cute!  Wonder whatever happened to her...  let me check IMDB.
Her name is Robyn Lively and it looks like she has been doing tv series like Psych, The Mentalist and 30 Rock.  She aged really well!  Still gorgeous!
Anyway... I had totally forgotten about this movie, but remember loving it as a kid.  Almost as much as Hocus Pocus... nothing can top that movie!  Best Halloween Movie Ever!  I have always wanted to visit Salem, Massachusetts in October because of this movie!
I was in love with Thackery Binx!
I'm not a big fan of horror movies, but for some reason like to torture myself and watch the Paranormal Activity movies.  I didn't sleep well for a good month after seeing the first.  So why am I going to see the new one tonight... when I will soon be spending many nights sitting in the dark with my babe???  To top it off, after we set up the new baby video monitor, I realized it reminded me of some of the shots in Paranormal Activity 2.  eeeeekkkk!
Note:  I would post a pic of Paranormal Activity 3 here, but am too afraid to even look for a pic online!

Guess I better take a nap today since I won't be sleeping much tonight!

My Fave Jams...

I thought it was time for a post that was about something other than my pregnancy.  After watching VH1's 100 Greatest Songs of the 2000's, I was inspired to go through some old cd's.  Here are a few of my fave...  I realize these are completely random.

This album came out in 1993 when I was 10 years old.  My dad had no idea what he was buying me.  These songs are NOT appropriate for a 10 year old!  However, I listened to the cd so many times it eventually wore out.  To this day, I can still rap every word.

I actually still have this cd in my car and listen to it all the time.  The songs are so catchy!

My best friend, Leslie, and I used to cruise on the weekends with this blaring!

I bought this cd because the boy I had a crush on in high school liked it.  My fave song on the album is "Baby, Cuz I'm A Thug".  The little kids singing in it crack me up!

Wish they were still together... I loved female country groups like the Dixie Chicks and SheDaisy!

I never much cared for Sheryl Crow until I heard "The First Cut Is The Deepest".  I bought this cd to have that song and then fell in love with the other songs.

It is impossible to be in a bad mood when you listen to this!

Adam Levine has the sexiest voice in the world and I love all Maroon 5 songs!

The biggest reason I look forward to the holiday season every year!

34 Week Baby Bump

Still rockin heels... at least they are wedges!  How cute are these???

WE ARE 34 WEEKS!  I can't believe it!  Six weeks seems so close... and for the most part I am ready.  Ready to see what our little guy looks like, ready to put him in all his cute clothes, ready to spend 12 weeks at home getting to know him, etc.  However, part of me is anxious about labor/delivery and part of me knows that I am really going to miss having my little buddy safe in my belly.

This past week Jason and I went to a childbirth class to teach us labor techniques... position, breathing, etc.  It was actually very educational and made me feel more comfortable with the idea of labor.  One of the position techniques uses a "birthing" ball... which I actually have (used previously and briefly for working out).  It has been deflated and put up in a closet for years, but we got that sucker out this week.  I'll use it during early labor, while we are still at home.

I also attended an orientation at a pediatrician's office.  They do this in lieu of a pre-natal office visit.  I left there totally freaked out!  Not kidding... I came home bawling!  The dr. was telling us about the dangers of getting our baby out during flu season and how to prevent sickness.  Bottom line, we shouldn't have the baby around too many people or in public for 6-8 weeks.  It dawned on me that Christmas is within 5 weeks of our due date.  We may be staying home for the holidays this year!  No way is this baby is getting sick, being hospitalized and getting a spinal tap or blood draw like the pediatrician said would happen if he got a fever!

I know everyone is going to say "you're just a new mom... too overprotective... you won't be like this with your second... yadayada...", but I really don't care.  My main priority is keeping my little guy healthy and happy!  Note: if I ever put my kid in a bubble suit, please someone intervene!

Creepy Critters

The past few weeks at my office we have spotted a raccoon, snake... and then about a week later a baby snake.  One of my co-workers also found a black widow spider  in her garage.  Ick!  Of course, with an office full of girls, we were all freaking out.

When I came back to my desk on Friday this is what I found...

Good job girls... you got me!  The spider made me laugh, but I got a little freaked out by the snake when I went to check my voicemail.  Just be glad it didn't make me go into early labor!  Maybe I should have faked it, just to get them back.  Haha!

Baby Shower In Western KY

My wonderful sisters (sister-in-law, Nicky, included) threw me a super fun jungle themed shower last weekend.  One thing I have to say is that MY FAMILY KNOWS BABIES!  I have 20 nieces/nephews and 2 great-nephews... and counting!  ; )  Shhhhh... word on the street is that Baby H won't be the baby of the family for long.  I'll keep that little secret to myself for now.

My family of wise-women knew exactly what I would need for Baby H and with one baby shower, they wiped out most of our "need to buy for baby" list and then some things I didn't even know I needed.  We filled up my little Honda Fit to the max!

I am one lucky mommy-to-be to have all this parenting knowledge at my disposal.  Who needs to read pregnancy and parenting books when I have sisters???  I do get sad thinking about not having my mom during this time, but I had 27 years to watch and learn from her as she cared for my siblings and I, along with all her grandchildren.

Here are some pics from the shower...

These are the table centerpieces... aren't they precious?  I am planning to use the little animals as decor in the nursery.  Once my projects are underway, I will post pics.

Cloth Diaper Wreath that will be going on my hospital door.

THE MOST FUN BABY SHOWER CAKE EVER!
It was delicious too!  I should know... I ate 3 slices!
My sister Yvette made monkey cupcakes!  How fun are these???

My sister, Jana, made this diaper cake.  My favorite part of it is the monkey's ghetto sock cap.  Haha!  It is actually a really cute bear cap with little ears.  The monkey is one of those kid backpack's with a leash.

Parents-to-be in front of our cake and by our gift table.  The sweater dress did nothing for my figure... at least nothing good for it.  You can't tell in these pics, but I am rocking some super cute wedge boots with leggings that make my legs look killer!

Baby Peyton with his mom, Nicky (my sister-in-law) and Jason with his best buddy, Ty (my sister, Deanna's oldest son).  Looks like they are playing chicken!

Of course I got a onesie with something about an Aunt!  I have bought numerous "aunt" shirts over the years, so it is fun to have one for my baby.

I have some very talented Aunts... my Aunt Nina Gail (who I am named after - my middle name is Gale) crocheted Baby H a brightly colored, beautiful blanket.  It looks more blue in the pic, but it is more of a teal green.  If we ever have a girl, we can use it b/c the colors are gender neutral.

This one my Aunt Jannett made... it's a bit larger with a different pattern.  Can't wait to wrap my babe in this during the cold winter months and snuggle!  :)

A UK onesie for our future Wildcat!  The shirt reads "this is how I roll".  Baby H will be sporting this for UK Basketball Season!  GO CATS!!!

These books are a gift to Baby H from his cousin, Ty.  No telling how many books Jason and I have read to Ty.  Every time I visit him, he brings me 5-6 books at a time for me to read and within an hour we are surrounded on the couch by no less than 20 books.  He never tires of being read to.  I hope Baby H loves books as much as he does!

Nearing the end of the gift-opening... I believe Jason is getting a little annoyed tired.  Ha!  So glad this was caught on camera!

My nephew Jack stealing toys from the gift bags.

My sister, Yvette, and niece, Jaclyn, hi-jacked my camera and I found about 10 pics of them making funny faces.  Little did they know I would post them online.  Muhahahahaha!

Thanks to my nephews, Ty and Cooper, for letting us practice.  Notice Ty's hand in my hair... he does this when he gets sleepy.  It's adorable, until you have to sleep in the same bed with him and he does it all night.

We are in the early stages of designing the nursery... please ignore the pink bedspread...  it's is the first thing to go!  We can't have pink in a baby boy's room.  I wanted  you all to see all the gifts we unpacked and Lucie in the middle of it all wondering what the heck is happening to her house and why she can't play with all the fun toys in the bags!

Two of the five showers down and we already have a closet full... not to mention the dresser is already packed.  If you think you spot a blue dress in the back of the closet (on the right side), you are correct.  Before we announced that Baby H was a boy, my dad had given me this dress.  My mom bought it last year before she passed away, knowing that if I ever had a baby it would be a girl.  One day momma...

32 Week Pregnancy Update

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 32 Weeks
Not the best pic, but you can see how big the bump has gotten.
Size of baby: Almost a honeydew!  Right now he is a round squash???  On average babies at 32 weeks are approx 4 lbs and 15-16 inches.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: I am starting to pick up weight pretty fast... about 12 pounds up from pre-pregnancy weight and about 27 up from my lowest pregnancy weight.  It is still mostly in my belly.  I have to admit, I look better pregnant than I did before.  I have a nice firm, albeit round, belly and am slim everywhere else.  The only upside to being sick so much!  I need to knock on wood before I blow up like a balloon!  :)
Maternity Clothes: I recently bought a bunch of new outfits from Motherhood Maternity... mostly Heidi Klum's collection there.  I love her style!  I love wearing a dress or tunic with leggings and boots.  So much that I went out and bought a new pair of $80 boots.  Seriously, I need to stop with the shopping.. refer to my last post.
Gender: Sweet momma's boy!
Movement: Still moving quite a bit.  Movements are more rolling than kicking.  Sometimes it gets uncomfortable, but it makes me feel better knowing he can still move around a bit!  He moves mostly at night, meaning we will likely have a little night owl.
Sleep: Have been having some vivid nightmares.  Sometimes really sad, sometimes scary.  Good thing I wake up every few hours, so they never last long.  I sleep best when I'm propped up a little bit b/c it's hard to breathe.
What I miss: I miss not having to pee all the time... sleeping on my stomach... eating mexican food... painting my toe nails... being able to walk up a few flights of stairs without running out of breath.
Cravings:  Lots of cereal and fruit.  Ate a whole big mac and large fries this past week... not healthy, but delicious.  I don't remember the last time I had a big mac... maybe in high school?
Symptoms:  Not getting sick as much, thanks to Zofran.  I am pretty exhausted by the end of the day and am usually in bed by 9.  It's getting much harder to bend over or get out of bed.
Best Moment this week: My family in Western KY threw me a baby shower this past weekend.  Baby H got so many wonderful things.  He is going to be spoiled rotten!  A post about the shower and pics to come soon!
