Did you poop? (funny video of Henry)

I have watched this video no less than 20 times already today.  It cracks me up!  Doesn't it seem like he knows what I'm saying?  Hehe!

2 Months

My sweet baby is 2 months old...

  • You are growing too fast.  My job as your mother is to ensure you grow, but can't you do it a little slower???
  • At your 2 month check-up you are 11lbs,13oz (56%), 24 inches (82%) and your head 39 cm (29%).
  • We saw real tears for the first time, after your shots.  Broke my heart, but surprisingly I didn't cry.
  • You are so much fun in the mornings.  After we nurse, you will snooze for a bit and then we will sit and talk.  You will actually smile and coo at me, as if we are having a real conversation.
  • I could sit and kiss your cheeks all day.  I think Daddy could too.  You love it, even if  Daddy's face is a little scruffy.
  • You finally figured out how to get your hand in your mouth... now you are working on getting it to stay there.
  •  You go to bed around 8:30-9 each night and sleep a 4-5 hour stretch, wake up to be changed and nurse and then sleep for a 3-4 hour stretch.  It's awesome!
  • You can't sleep good without one of your Cloud B buddies (Mimicking Monkey, Gentle Giraffe or Sleep Sheep) that make white noise in 45 min increments.  Throughout the night you will stir and I will have to get up to turn it back on... within minutes you are deep in sleep again.
  • When you nap, you sleep with your hand on your face.
  • You refuse to be held like a baby anymore.  You want to be upright, either laying against my chest or sitting with your back to my chest.  Daddy started this and now it is a must.
  • You will look at toys for a minute, but still prefer to look at faces.  We can get you to sit in your swing and look at the fish mobile or lay on your play mat for 15 min at at time.
  • We are still breastfeeding and loving it! You are getting a big belly and a double chin, so I know you are getting enough to eat.

  • Lucie seems to take more interest in you this month.  I guess she has finally figured out that you aren't going anywhere and she has to deal with it.  I have noticed that she wants more attention, spending most of the day at my feet.
    • You are wearing 0-3 month clothes, fitting into them right before Christmas... which worked out perfectly considering  your Christmas outfits were 0-3 months.
      • I have started taking you out with me during the day without Daddy's help.  We have been grocery shopping, to Wal-Greens and out to get lunch.  You sleep most of the time.
      • You got cradle-cap and lost most of the hair on the top of your head around the first of the year.  It cleared up within a week and now you seem to have quite a bit of new hair.  Overall, you are a great looking baby!
      •  You went on a few trips this month... to Western KY and to Northern KY/Cinci.  You were an angel on both trips!
      • You got to meet your Great-Grandma Yease when we went to Western KY.  She loved you!

        • You have been on 2 dates already... such a playa!  The first was with Evie on NYE and the second was with Caitlyn at 7 weeks.
          First date with Evie.
Caitlyn enjoyed licking your face and you didn't seem to mind.
          • I have only 3 weeks left of maternity leave and I have broken down every day in the past week thinking about having to leave you.  Please time, slow down!
We love you so much and enjoy watching you grow... looking forward to many more precious times!

            11 Fun Facts About Me
            1. I married my college sweetheart.  We met while taking a smoke break outside the dorm we lived in.  Neither of us smoke.  Haha!
            2. I am really good at board games.  My favorite is Scattergories.
            3. I have 10 siblings... 8 sisters and 2 brothers.
            4. I have never been a fan of working out, but really liked Zumba.  Since I don't have time to go to the class anymore, I crank up the music and dance around the room with the Zumba moves I remember.  I'm sure I look ridiculous, but at least Henry thinks it's amusing.  :)
            5. I prefer hot chocolate to coffee.
            6. I watch The Weather Channel all the time!  Mainly for background noise, but I do love a good storm story!
            7. I was raised Southern Baptist, married a Catholic and now consider myself something of a hybrid.
            8. I never tire of the song "Say My Name" by Destiny's Child.  It reminds me of the good ole days in high school.
            9. I am REALLY good at hoola-hooping!  I could probably hoola-hoop for hours and almost never lose if someone challenges me.  Heck, I could even do it pregnant!
            10. I take pride in the fact that my college education was 100% self-financed and I had a 4.0 Major GPA.
            11. I broke my arm 3 times... when I was ages 5, 6 and 7.
            11 Questions From Sarah
            1. What made you want to start a blog?  I loved reading other blogs and saw where someone made theirs into a book.  It seemed like a fun, easy way to record my memories and eventually print them into a book.
            2. What are your top three blogs to read?  These are all people that have lived or do live in Lex...   Simply Sarah Style, Confessions of a 20 Something, A Blue-Eyed Boy Met A Brown-Eyed Girl
            3. What are your favorite things to "pin" on Pinterest?  Recipes or simple home decor projects
            4. Where are your favorite places to shop for home decor?  Home Goods and Kirklands
            5. Where are your favorite places to shop for clothing bargains?  I don't like to dig for clothes at discount stores... I much prefer to wait for good promo codes or coupons at stores such as The Limited, Express and Gap.  I also like going to outlets.
            6. What is your favorite color combinations?  Navy/White or Teal/Grey
            7. Do you collect anything?  I have way too many candles!
            8. What is your favorite thing to cook/bake?  Anything I can throw in a crock pot.

              What I'm Diggin'...

Some things I am diggin' this week...

Kindle - Jason won this for having "data of the week" in his lab and since he never reads, I stole it.  I never thought I would like an e-reader, but it's easier than a paperback when nursing or holding Henry.  Currently I am reading the Outlander series.  I would love to get the Kindle Fire, but am waiting until later this year when the screen is supposed to be larger.
Latisse - I meant to do a before/after pic, but I am already 6 weeks into using it.  I used Latisse last year before I got pregnant and my lashes had finally reached their full potential when I stopped using it.  My lashes were ridiculous (see pic below)!  I bought a new bottle a few weeks before Henry arrived, just so I could start back asap.  It takes 12-16 weeks to fully grow, so I should have amazing, granddaddy long leg eyelashes by Spring!

Pic of me and my nephew, Peyton, taken last February.
This purse from The Limited, which I am not letting myself buy.  It's only $80, but I can't be spending that much on a purse I don't need  but want really bad when we have to start paying $175/wk for daycare next month.  I got an email advertising 40% off their entire website earlier this week and was psyched about using the discount to get this purse for $50... but when I went to checkout the promo code had expired.  Bummer.
This shirt... which I did buy.  It was only $17.99 at Target.  I need clothes that fit loose around the tummy.  I am back to pre-pregnancy weight, but still have a "marshmallow" belly.  :/
Orange Leaf - They just opened an OL a few miles from my house, so we went on Monday... and I plan on going back tomorrow.  Good thing I am breastfeeding and don't have to worry about watching my weight!

I am also diggin' these chubby cheekers!

              The Nail Files

              The Nail Files
Hosted by Vicki @ My Vickilicious Life and Tara @ Fabulous But Evil
This is my first link up!  I am a hoarder of nail polishes so I couldn't resist this one.
Seriously, is it normal to have this many???

I don't have my fingernails painted and I'm not about to show you my ugly feet, so you will have to settle for the bottles.  These are the ones I got in my stocking from Santa.

              L to R - Curve-aceous, Spark-tacular! top coat, New Year's Red-Solution

I like to put the sparkly top coat on hot pink nail polish.  It's really hard to get off though.

Here is the reason I don't have my nails painted.  Worth it, huh?
Look how big he has gotten.

              Milk drunk.

              Couch Potato

Since Jason went back to work this week, I have been able to watch more tv.

Back story:  I bought him a PS3 for his birthday in November and he has been playing it nonstop frequently, when not taking care of Henry.  Not gonna lie... it kinda drove me crazy that when I was stuck on the couch nursing, I would have to watch him shoot and blow up things.  Can't complain though, I bought it for him.

So back to the topic at hand.  I have become a couch potato.  Henry likes to be held A LOT!  I like to hold him A LOT!  Our routine goes something like this... change his diaper----> get comfy on the couch with a drink, remote, boppy, burp cloths ---->  nurse  ------> babe falls asleep ----> at which point I am usually engrossed in a show, so I continue to hold him so as not to wake him up -----> by the time the show is over and I put him down, where he will sleep for 20 min and I will rush to do random things around the house (brush my teeth, eat, laundry, pet Lucie, etc.)  -----> babe wakes up and it's time to repeat the process.

My dvr is down to nothing, so I have resorted to watching shows in live time (where I actually get to see the commercials I sell) or I watch On Demand.  Here are some shows that I surprisingly have come to enjoy.
Love & Hip Hop - These girls got drama!

Tori & Dean Home Sweet Hollywood - their kid, Liam, cracks me up!
Anthony Bourdain, No Reservations - I recently watched an episode on Beruit where they were filming the day before it was bombed and got trapped there, eventually being rescued by US Marines.  Unreal!
Price Is Right - reminds me of my mom, who loved this show.  I'm pretty good at it too and would def make win lots of $$$ if I ever got on the show.  Maybe a NEW CAR!!! (in announcer voice)
The Bachelor... ugh, this show disgusts me, but I decided to watch it anyway.  The first show is always entertaining b/c there are always a few fruitcakes crying at the end b/c they fell in love that first night and now their life is doomed.  HOT MESS!
Today Show - I usually only watch the last hour with Kathie Lee and Hoda.  I am amazed that they can drink so early in the morning, even if they do get up at 2am to start their day.
House of Lies on Showtime - I've never been big on original series on HBO or Showtime b/c they tend to be really vulgar.  This one is no exception (lots of T&A in the first episode), but I actually enjoy it.  It's pretty upbeat for a drama.
Any suggestions on other shows I should watch????

Disclaimer:  I work for a cable company, (advertising sales) and it's my job to know about the programs I am pitching to my clients.  Therefore, I don't feel quite as guilty about spending hours in front of the tube each day.

              2012 Printable Calendar

I came across a cute printable calendar on my friend, Sarah's, blog Simply Sarah Style that I thought I would share with you all.  If you aren't already following Sarah, you should... her blog is filled with many inspiring ideas for home/party decor, fashion, etc.
You can get the printable 5x7 calendar in the color of your choice on this blog, Sprik Space.  I plan on doing the teal and putting it in a cute silver frame for my office desk and maybe the green for my fridge!

              Holidays 2011

We had a great Christmas, celebrating with family in Lexington.  We didn't make it to western KY to visit my family b/c we just aren't ready to travel that far yet.  It was hard not being with my family, but we did get to skype so they could see Henry.

Henry got lots of great stuff and so did Lucie... as evident by photo below.
We started a few family traditions this year, including reading The Polar Express and The Night Before Christmas on Christmas Eve night.  Funny story... as we were reading The Polar Express and got to the part where the little boy heard a noise he had never heard before, Henry lets out the biggest fart!  Hilarious!  I am totally going to tell that story to all his future girlfriends.
Christmas morning, we opened presents and I must have been on Santa's nice list b/c I got these.  :)

On NYE, our friends Erin and Kevin with their sweet baby girl, Evie came to visit.  We have already decided that one day Evie and Henry will be married.  This was their first date.  We took them to dinner but they slept through it (thank goodness!).  At least they got some quality "tummy" time together before we left the house.

Henry got Evie a little teddy bear for Christmas.

We stayed up until 3 am and then had to get up with babe at 6 am.  Apparently he didn't get the memo that we sleep in sometimes.  Needless to say, we were very lazy today.  Hope you all had a wonderful and safe NYE!
